My approach to therapy is one that is deeply rooted in the relationship between myself and my clients. Therapy is a really unique place where two people are focused on one and I truly feel honored to be in this space with my clients. My approach is warm, causal, kind and compassionate.
Therapy with me is a mixed bag and dependent upon what brings you into therapy, your treatment goals and what you would like to explore that day. I pull from trauma informed modalities and utilize mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic approaches. to name a few.
Therapy is a collaborative effort and feedback is always welcome. Clients are always welcome to decline any therapeutic invitation I might offer. During trainings, I have completed all invitations that I offer.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a highly researched and effective structured treatment modality for those living with trauma and PTSD symptoms. It has been designed to process unresolved traumatic memories. EMDR is a very structured therapy that utilizes bilateral stimulation (tapping, eye movement, or tappers) while the client is focused on trauma to slow their body and allow processing differently. EMDR allows us to reprocess these distress memories, so our body responds differently and can get out of the "fight or flight" survival mode the event triggered. EMDR can beneficial for all ages and treats a wide ranges of symptoms.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) or “parts” work is very utilized within my practice. IFS views each person as a protective system with parts making us their internal world. Parts work allows clients to explore their inner world with compassion, often for the parts of us we do not always like or for parts that are causing distress and symptoms. Utilizing IFS allows clients to explore, communicate, understand and "update" or give our parts a new role
